Compost

We rely heavily on good quality compost to build and feed healthy soil.
The compost is produced at the garden using a variety of components.

From the garden:-

• Garden by-products, trimmings etc
• Vege scraps

These items are passed through a mulcher

From outside the garden:-

• Vegetarian restaurant kitchen scraps
• Restaurant coffee grounds
• Horse and cow manure
• Pigeon droppings
• Grass clippings
• Mulched green waste from Huskisson Waste Depot
• Lucerne

The bays are frequently watered and turned to maintain the desired moisture level and aeration.
